Europa League

The Europa League, officially known as the UEFA Europa League, is an annual club football competition organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for eligible European football clubs. It is the second-tier tournament in European club football, ranking below the UEFA Champions League. The competition began in 1971 as the UEFA Cup before being renamed in 2009.

The Europa League features teams that qualify based on their performance in domestic leagues and cup competitions, and it includes a group stage followed by knockout rounds. The tournament typically attracts teams from various European leagues, providing clubs the opportunity to compete on an international stage and gain recognition. The winner of the Europa League earns a place in the following season’s Champions League, along with a UEFA Super Cup match against the Champions League winner. The competition is known for its mix of established teams and emerging clubs, contributing to a diverse and competitive football landscape in Europe.
