Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by advancing a ball into the opposing team’s net, primarily using the feet, although players can use any part of their body except their hands and arms, except for the goalkeepers. Matches are played on a rectangular field known as a pitch, which is divided by a center line and goal areas at each end.

Football is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). The game is known for its strategic plays, teamwork, and physical skill. It is one of the most popular sports globally, with various leagues and competitions, including the FIFA World Cup, which is held every four years and features national teams from around the world. The term “football” may refer to different variations or codes in different countries, such as soccer in the United States and Canada, while in other regions, it encompasses various forms of the sport, including American football, rugby, and Australian rules football.
