Hip-Hop

Hip-Hop is a cultural and artistic movement that emerged in the 1970s in the Bronx, New York City. It encompasses four key elements: rapping (MCing), DJing, breakdancing (b-boying), and graffiti art. Rapping involves rhythmic and rhyming speech, often addressing social issues, personal experiences, or cultural commentary. DJing focuses on creating music through turntablism and beat-making, typically using samples from various genres. Breakdancing is a street dance characterized by its athletic and acrobatic movements. Graffiti art involves visual expression through spray painting on public surfaces, often conveying political or artistic messages.

Hip-Hop also represents a broader cultural identity that includes fashion, language, and lifestyle, influencing art, music, and social movements worldwide. As a genre of music, hip-hop has evolved tremendously over the decades, incorporating diverse styles and themes, making it a significant force in contemporary culture.
