Europa League

The Europa League is an annual club football (soccer) competition organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). It is considered the second tier of European club football, ranking below the UEFA Champions League. The tournament features teams that qualify based on their performance in their respective national leagues and cups. Launched in 1971 as the UEFA Cup, it was rebranded as the UEFA Europa League in 2009. The competition consists of multiple rounds, including a group stage followed by knockout phases, culminating in a final match to determine the champion. The winner earns a place in the following season’s UEFA Champions League and may also compete in the UEFA Super Cup. The Europa League provides clubs from smaller footballing nations and leagues an opportunity to compete at a high level in European football.
